Is there any way to purchase the internal gears of a 2010 or up GLI transmission without buying the entire trans?

I think. If you google HPA gear set you will come up with some part numbers for the EU r32 gears they use. Assume if you can get those separately you can do the same with what you are looking for.
1stvwparts has been pretty helpful in the past. ETKA diagrams and part numbers for stuff that isn't listed on the diagrams they put up. Could try emailing their parts department.
FFE also has beefed up gear sets I think. Could try that too.
