I am surprised that MT beats DSG in every age group, judging by the comments on the board. I thought DSG would at least beat MT in the 2 younger age groups.
Oh man you will when you blow out your left knee skiing and they can't repair it beyond general walking. You will also never considering buying a multi-story home. Don't assume that those who chose a DSG did so because they wanted too.
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and it was impacting my left knee. Had that not happened, there would be no GTI.
In 1.5 years I managed to lose 50 pounds and start exercising to see if I could reverse the knee pain. It recently started to work but I don't trust my knee enough to own a manual transmission vehicle as my only car. So, I may get a second car with a manual transmission.
DSG:
1.) Wife needs to drive it... Just won't learn manual
2.) Resale value better.... Most people in this world aren't car enthusiasts
3.) Stop and go traffic way less of a pain
For all other reasons manual tranny is better in my opinion (coming from a DSG owner)
