Are there sturdier glove box handle alternatives to the OEM one?

So my handle broke off a few weeks ago. Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket or compatible OEM handles that are stronger than the plastic one?

I use my glove box quite a bit and a metal one would be ideal if there is anything like that out there. I have the Autobahn trim with the brushed aluminum look, so something that matches that would be great.

FYI this is plastic. I don't think anyone makes a brushed aluminum handle. It doesn't look too shabby tho. Install is a pain in the ass if you couldn't tell from my tone.

I've owned my GTI since October 2011 and HAVE NEVER broke the handle. Why GORILLA strength when trying to open the glove box? If it's lock, unlock it with the key. SMH
