A new 118 TSI / demonstrator?

How do you tell if it's a brand new vehicle or a demonstrator? I've seen quite a number of demonstrators for sale on a website with 10-20 kms on the clock. I guess it's just a matter of checking whether the car has been previously registered?

I would think that a demonstrator would have many more kms than 10-20. Possably hundrads of kms.
A dealer demenstrator would not be registered.

10-20 kms? hmm.... I am sure they have worked on the odometer.

or maybe they are like floor stock with no rego.. isn't the car new in this case because it was selling under demo/near new car category.
I'm sure the test drive vehicles would have more than a few hundred kms on them with rego. I was just curious because my dealer was like I had to wait ~3 months for my car as it has to be ordered from Germany and then he calls and tells me that he could get a car for me in the next few weeks as long as I drop one of the options.
