Ready to race!
I picked up some Pento Super Performance III 5W-30. I bought it for $7.76 a liter from a VW parts shop a few blocks from my house. After reading up on Euro 4 low SAP oils compared to Euro 3 mid SAP oils. They showed the Euro 4 oils reduced intake valve deposits by 42% over over Euro 3 oils.
I will be doing 6 month OCI's on my car. I drive 90% city, and only 4.2 miles to work, all city streets. So my engine doesn't even get up to operating temp to burn off the moisture. With this engine being DI, fuel dilution will be there also.
I will be doing all my oil changes myself. I'm not letting a VW dealer touch my car! This is my 4th VW in ten years. I know all about the famous VW dealer network. My local dealer still using Castrol Syntec 5W-40 oil. That oil is mediocre at best. I don't mind forking out $50 every six months for oil and filter. I sent in an VOA to Blackstone yesterday. We can use this as a base line for future UOA's.
