i think it works. as you see in my last pic, it hit 190F just idling.

I don't know if this is what you are referring to, but this unit is very different than the P3 gauge. The OBDII connection it uses is much more limited. This Polar device taps directly into the CAN bus. Lets be honest. This product is superior. Since I owned a P3cars gauge I can talk about it. It was rediculously overpriced for what it did. My guess is you can get this one for $320-$340 shipped? But no idea on real shipping costs, as everyone will be different.

(I am talking out of my ass but i might be right.)

Its too bad about the boost but hopefully you get it worked out. Also the performance timer not auto starting sucks to but seems like it could easily be fixed with software update?

No, I have no experience with the P3 gauge. I'm basing my statements off of my experience with Vagcom and datalogging. My car simply does not have an oil temp sensor. I would honestly be surprised if what is being displayed by your car as oil temp actually is oil temp.

From Polar forums programmer:

Normally, in cars without Oil temperature sensor, value readed is negative, so I assume that you have oil temperature sensor.

I'm going to get him some other readings to check it out.
