Rattle on Deceleration

I'm getting a metallic rattle noise when decelerating, mostly at lower RPM. I installed the wastegate rattle clip already and it fixed the rattle on acceleration but this is still present on decel.

Wasn't sure if it was exhaust related or my wastegate has just gone to shit on my turbo.... :(

This sounds similar to mine, but mine is on acceleration. I still don't know what it could be, but could it also be an exhaust leak too?

I had the exact same noise and installing the clip fixed it.

VW wants $50 for a piece of metal to fix their own shitty design. Thankfully good o'l ebay sells it for $7. I bought mine from ebay and it fixed the rattling sound. Link below:

The OP states in their original post that they already installed the waste gate clip, the only sound I can hear in the video is a leaking exhaust!

Does not sound like a exhaust leak to me. Is the clip installed correctly? Maybe it could've fallen off.

Can you narrow down where it’s coming from first? Front end, middle, rear...if someone else has heard this before on their own car then go with that but see how close you can get yourself before you buy anything.

Does the rattle cause any performance issues? Or it’s just the sound?

I have not yet. But I did replace the downpipe gasket and also found my o2 sensor wasn't tightened all the way.

The above helped a little bit, but still getting a rattle on decel.

I did see black soot on the catback where it mates to the downpipe. Will probably try to readjust the clamp this weekend and see if that's the fix.

The soot would certainly indicate a leak!

Thought it was the downpipe, replaced that gasket with no luck.

Taking a look where the catback meets the downpipe this weekend.

Check for a deteriorated gasket and possible loose hardware and try tapping heat shields to recreate the sound and maybe try bending some corners to change the surrounding area. Let us know.
