I've always hated the dual exhaust and wanted a single side exit. Sigh I don't have the funds right now to do it though. The valance alone is very reasonable, it's the buying a new exhaust that makes it more expensive.
Also, I have a stock resonator that has the 2 hangers up front where it sits at the connection for the downpipe if you wanted it. It's cut perfectly where the MK5 muffler is, so you'd just need a sleeve clamp or weld it together.
