Problem with RNS-315

I put my old RNS 315 in my wife's Jetta GLI to replace her Fender head unit because it died. So the radio works. It powers on, shows the fm stations and the music coming from her phone but there isn't any volume. Any idea? Does it need to be coded to the car?

No firsthand experience, but I think i read somewhere there is a Fender option in VCDS. So I'd guess that needs to be adjusted.

yes
you have to code the radio to work with the fender amplifier setup. (different than the Dynaudio setup)
