How to add a sub to stock radio??

I've just purchased an '11 GT TDI and want to add my sub woofer to it. It has the RCD310 in I believe, I'd like to keep it as the stock radio, but it obviously doesn't have a sub input.. How do I go about adding one to it?

Any help would be appreciated! :)

You need the hi to low converter(also known as line output converter) which taps into one of your rear speakers and creates an rca input for the amp. And obviously an amp kit

I have an active vibe sub, so it's already got an amp. I'll look into getting one of those though, thanks for the advice!

Just get the line out converter. It's much cheaper and works if you only want a sub connection

If your amp has inputs for line-out speakers connections, you can tap the rear speakers. If not, you'll need an LC2i converter. You will need to run a fat power cable from your battery to the amp and speaker connections from the head unit to the amp, then a speaker connection from the amp to the sub. For amp and sub suggestions and a custom stealth mounting box see http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35644&highlight=stealth+woofer. I have a Rockford Fosgate 300X1 Punch amp and a shallow mount Pioneer 8" sub in one of Nik's stealth boxes under the rear deck and it makes a world of difference. Hey mate

Follow the advice given above, dependant on budget, but one thing you can do if you don't want to splice your OEM wiring is to buy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-SEAT-S...970544?hash=item27e616adf0:g:JMUAAOSwrmdTpTAw

You can plug this in between the existing wiring and the RCD and splice these wires. It will also give you MDI, etc. but is completely removable and non intrusive.

Just my 2pence worth....oh sorry 2cents :p

I already have MDI and AUX with it, comes through the chubby box/arm rest. But I think I do need to get one of those converter things. I just hope it all works, having a sub bringing out the lows makes listening to music in the car so much better (in my opinion anyway!) :)
