Valve Cover Paint DIY

Has anyone done this yet? can give any feedback? i'm looking at doing this and wanting to do it the right way, so if anyone has done this and has any feedback or anything of that sort it would be great. If i'm not 100% confident in it, i will just bite the bullet dollar wise and probably get it powder coated.

This can be done at home but takes a lot of steps to do it right.

Clean work area and a lot of prep will take it a long way!

Be sure to share some pictures after your done if you decide to DIY.

Thanks,

Alex

I definitely will. i'm about 95% confident in doing it myself i just want to see if anyone else had done it and there were any glaring annoyances and gotchas.. i have a big garage with lots of clean space to do it in as well.

I am not sure if i want to do it blue, or red though. the car is rising blue, but i always liked the look of red under the hood. I've also toyed with just going a gloss black.

I've seen several threads on painting the engine cover on either this forum or VWvortex, but it's been a while, you might take a look to see what you can find.
I have a naked engine top, but I like to see mechanicals (old school), and I don't want anything that holds in heat (the enemy).
