Disconnecting the bluetooth module under the seat is super easy. Tab comes off easy.

Thank you for the help folks.

Next question who has installed a back up camera in conjunction with this radio? What kind did you use & how did you hook it up. I'm pretty confused about that aspect of this radio. I do believe I'm going to pull the trigger on the radio quite soon.

Do you know what Android phones support this? It might be worth dumping my Pixel to gain this functionality..

After seeing so many posts saying this unit sounds much better than the RCD 510, I want to get one for my 2010 base Golf. What size torx wrench is needed to remove the old head unit? And when plugging my Galaxy S3 into the USB port to use Google Maps will the map graphic show on the screen? Sorry but this is all new to me Thanks

Not too familiar with CarPlay - does this unit have the ability to play Spotify or YouTube (audio or video)? Thanks!

There are only certain apps that CarPlay supports - Spotify is one of them. I use Spotify nearly all the time on the unit, as well as podcasts. I assume Pandora is supported as well.

It's T20 size to remove the radio.

There's a DIY on YouTube for removing the stock unit and installing the RCD330? Let me know how it goes. Also curious if you're an Apple or Android user. As an Android user I'm trying to find out if the Google maps image shows up on the screen when the phone is plugged into the USB port or if it's just contacts that you seek. Also don't know whether the unit has its own mic for hands free calling. Thanks

I viewed another DIY on removing the RCD 510 which I have in my vehicle. Below I am going to show a few steps that may help others when installing this headunit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tools Used:
Small Pry Tool
T20 Torx Screwdiver

Completion Time:
~20 Minutes

Installation Steps:
1. Remove faceplate from headunit using pry tool.

2. Remove the 4 T20 screws as shown.

http://imgur.com/a/Bj5Uq

3. At this point, the headunit will pull directly out. Disconnect the CAN connector and antennas.

http://imgur.com/a/fOEAA

4. Included in the packaging is an antenna adapter that you will need to use. View picture to see how it connects.

http://imgur.com/a/Dq6r2

5. Plug in CAN connector and antenna. Then mount headunit and install faceplate.

NOTES:
- From scanning this thread if you have Dynaudio you must unplug/plug your car battery to get everything to function.

I tried searching for this the thread but didn't come up, but does the Climatronic settings show up when you adjust the temperature on the B version headunit?

Just installed it myself and I can only echo what everyone else has said - it's awesome.
