For news yes. For marketing, that's a cop out for a failed ad.

Ad only works if it helps push people to vw dealerships, test driving, and buying. If not, good talk, bad talk, press, no press the ad fails. Plus, we ralk about the ad here in a vw forum (no surprise there), wonder if anyone else outside our realm is talking about the ad.

If the news of us getting the new rs3 instead of the ehhhhh rs4 are trued they should have saved this ad campaign. Finally something they are bringing out that I am interested in. Golf RS news now please.

What is the 'effectiveness' VW was looking for? getting noticed by people who already own VWs or to actually sell more VWs?

....does it actually inspire people to buy a VW because of it? ..or does it make anyone change their minds and NOT buy a VW because of it?
