Do you drive with it off?

Does anyone drive with the plastic engine manifold cover off? It's easy to pop off and I'm wondering if the engine would be slightly cooler without the plastic shield covering it? I'm guessing it's on there for noise reduction.

I took it off cause I prefer the look of the engine without it.
Its only on during winter acting as a blanket for the engine and to keep the snow and salt off.:bellyroll:

Cooling is the same, never noticed any major difference.
Noise level is the same with a bit more of the direct injection noise.
