Hello fellow Golf R Owners!

My 2012 VW Golf R just turned 80,000 miles. What mileage is recommended to change our shocks? I notice it's getting a little rickety. What ones do you guys recommend if I need new ones?

Thank you!

At 82k was the mileage I traded my mk6 Golf R, I had stg 1+ since 6k miles.

At 68k I noticed minor slip on my clutch, at full/heavy throttle.

At 75k noticed my stock suspension slightly softening up, by 80k it wasn't to my standards, meaning I felt very minor floaty-ness. I didnt feel like investing in my car, so I traded it in.

I definitely wouldn't recommend trading a car in for those reason. It was more of a personal preference.

My R is now at 143,000 mi, mostly highway, and I honestly can't seem to feel much of a difference. What are big things to look for? Will it sag? I honestly can't remember what it felt like when I bought it, ~80k.

Not an R but on my GTI I notice damper wear in the form of bounciness after about 70k. Damper wear is going to vary drastically based on road conditions you drive on.
