How does the 2.0 in the GTI differ from the A4

How will this new engine differ from the current 2009 A4? Will it be just detuned or will it be a totally diffrent engine?

I was hoping for the the torque the A4 had.

I've heard a couple of things on that subject. Some info i've heard that only the HP was being updated to 210bhp. But I also heard on a review video that they were going to up the torque too. So here is hoping that it gets the boost in torque that the A4 gets.

The A4 2.0T has variable valve timing/lift ect. It is NOT the same engine as the GTI/A3.

The real question for me is : AFTER a Stage 1 is it really different....?
And It's not....I saw that a reprog on the new A4 gives 400 nm....it's the same for audi A3/GTi mkV and probably MK6 too

True, But it is the same new family of engines the new EA888. Just Audi is having variable valve timing on both exhaust and inlet were the VW version does not have it on both.
