Unitronic stage 2 w/o DP ?

So is anyone running unitronic stage 2 or any other stage 2 tune without a full turbo back. Im looking into doing stage 2 with a cat back. (plans for a down pipe in the future) I would like to get it tuned now and only do it once instead of stage 1+ and then in a few months having to have it tuned again.

This. Downpipe is a requirement.

You need the down pipe..its not too expensive and can be installed in a few hours..you
can do the tunes in stages (makes sense doesn't it) as well, typically without extra charges so start stage 1 then do stage 2 when convenient

I wouldn't do it, you will burn the cat and destroy it. Car wouldn't run right with the turbo surging on wot and run too rich. I just did my down pipe last week and it runs so much smoother.

Get uni stage 2 with dp instead of catback.

Our Stage 2 Performance Software requires an upgraded Downpipe as a minimum supporting modification to be run. Our 3" Downpipe for the Golf R's 2.0L TFSI, coupled with our Stage 2 Performance Software produces 315HP/320TQ. That's a boost of +59HP/+77TQ!

Really? That DP works on a GTI, too?

No, it doesn't. But the user posted here in the Golf R forum, so my assumption is he was asking for the Golf R application.

Maybe? If so, we have Stage 2 Performance Software that has the same modification requirements as the Stage 2 for the Golf R.

yeah his sig says he has a GTI. either way you need a downpipe. a catback does nothing for performance and if you're looking for more sound even running the downpipe with stock catback will get you a nicer tone.
