It's been about two months since I bought my GTI and I'm starting to get a strong urge to start modifying my car. Now, I'm in high school going to college so my budget is limited, and I have to pay for other stuff for the car and my life, so I can't just drop 3 grand on multiple items at once, I have to do mods one by one... Anyways, I want what's best for my car (gaining power little by little without jeopardizing the reliability AT ALL) because this baby is gonna be with me a while, maybe forever, therefore I don't want to blow it up lol. This also contributes to my budget because I'm willing to wait longer and pay more for quality products. I know it sounds like a handful but I'm sure most of you can relate. With that said, here I go with my questions:
1. What do you guys think is the best thing to get first, ECU tune, Intake, or exhaust (TBE)? And why?
2. I really want an exhaust first but Is it possible to over boost if I were to install a TBE without an ECU flash?
3. If I were to install a TBE, and later a tune, would the increase in HP require an intake to prevent heat stroke?
4. With only a TBE, will there be unnecessary stress on any part of my car?
These are just some questions I could come up with now, please enlighten me with your knowledge guys. And I don't mind a whole page of explanations or details because I love reading these threads and learning more about cars. Thanks!
