First time poster, so excuse me if this topic is covered by another thread...
I was talking with an Edmonton dealer today re. a 2010 GTI & he said something about Canadian VW dealerships having received ~70% of their 2010 GTI quotas already, and that there would be no more 2010 GTIs available after that. Consumers that don't act now will be out of luck until the 2011's show up in the fall. He then pulled up a program allegedly showing the funnel of VW GTIs currently in dealerships, at the port in Halifax, being built on the assembly line, and yet to be built. I'm looking for a 5-door manual (candy white with the leather package) and the program showed approx. 30 entries. He said what I saw on the screen was it for the year.
Has anyone experienced this or heard about this quota from the dealerships they dealt with? Part of me is wondering if this is part of a FUD tactic...
