Golf MKVII RS

So anyone heard any news on the rumors about the 2014 Golf RS in the UK?
Idk if anyone has talked about it on here, couldn't find anything searching the forum.

Using the audi RS3 engine, Mk7 golf rs with 340-370hp...
Probably will be awhile before it comes to the States... if its even true.

VW has the wrong demand expectations for the U.S. Or they are just being overly cautious until they top toyota. lol.

It won't be in the states until its profitable in Europe, then South Africa and Australia, and maybe in the U.S. The main worry being inflation. > the whole reason the scirocco wasn't released in the US market.
... just seeing if anyone heard any secrets :-D

The Golf RS doesn't exist until something comes out of VW about it.

I'm not holding my breath.

But if they sold one with a manual trans I would buy it, no question.

Haven't heard anything about the golf RS, and most likely will never exist. Especially when the MKVII are due to start production if they haven't already.

Honda was able to sell a slightly modded version of the Civic Mugen in Japan only for an insane price of nearly $40,000 USD. Every single one presold right away. I bet VW could sell a few hundred of the Golf-RS just as easily.

Some people will pay anything for a rare limited run.

few hundred yes, but that wouldnt warrant the cost to bring them to US spec

it does make sense if you are someone looking to mod heavily. That swap is ~$25k for our cars I am told. If we believe the numbers form the stage 3 ttrs video 600hp shouldn't be an issue for it. We will never get close to that it seems

If you like hatches enough $45-50k doesn't sound like that bad of a deal. Sure as fuck beats wasting money on a tts (yes another tts dig )

Going from the a3 / golf vii interior shots that have been running around I like the golf better too.

edit: form the last couple articles to surface about the next golf I really hope they do. 220hp gti sounds lame even with the reduced weight. Zero interest in another 2.0L vw engine.

I would absolutely pay $50k for a Golf RS or RS3 hatch/manual.

If VW does anything like Porsche did back in the 70's Then we can expect to see a 2.2 L four cylinder turbo in upcoming models.

The Scirocco didn't come to the U.S market because they didn;t want golf/GTI sales to go down. Not because of inflation.
