How can i increase boost?

I was reading that a manual boost controller could increase my gti boost pressure but is there any other way?

From what I have heard messing around with a boost controller on these cars are not worth while. You're better of getting an Ecu tune.

You'll hit limp mode at as little as 13-14 PSI on the stock programming. You really need a tune to make significant gains here...

Stage 1 increases boost by almost 50%. Such a good deal @~$850 with install. If you wait for their seasonal sales and find a shop that'll do the sale tube for free you're looking at $600.
