My new 2011 GTI

As I previously posted, I received my new 2011 GTI in mid September and then promptly went on a cycling vacation. So I have really only been driving it for a few weeks now.

So far, not a problem and not a rattle.

I thought some of you might be interested in some of the stuff I have installed. I dare say many of you will think I've ruined the car but it is a utility for me. I love driving it but it also has to be able to do the things I need it to do.

I apologize for the dirt. I am not one to wash my car all the time and it really needs a wash now.

So here are some pictures of my 5-door, CSG, 6MT 2011 GTI. The lighting was on a funny angle so the shots are not lit properly. Again, sorry.

Interesting features include:

... Thule kayak rack (adaptor 480 with feet kit #1323)

... Draw-Tite hitch (model # 24851) and 1Up bike rack

... mud flaps front and rear (I think they look good, but opinions differ)

... rubber trunk liner--OEM

... rear bumper protector (bought off eBay and self installed--http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-11-VOLKSWAGEN-VW-GOLF-REAR-BUMPER-PROTECTOR-COVER-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem20b3d8678eQQitemZ14045 6257422QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccesso ries#ht_2532wt_1167)

... console decals for added options (eg: ejection seat) from Aesthetic Creations: http://www.aestheticreations.net/vin...icstickers.htm

... switched out the standard ContiProContact tires for 17" (I prefer performance to looks) Conti ExtremeContact DWS

I have the vag-com for windows/sunroof up/down with remote lock/unlock -- highly recommended.

The only thing else I am considering is APR stage I when the car is properly broken in... likely this spring.

Works, but my gosh that's a huge picture.

Try photobucket, they automatically resize.

Welcome back and enjoy the ride!

I've recently started cycling, mostly recreational.

Shit that is a nice bike. Pinarello's can easily run over 5 grand. The bike and the car look great together man!
