De auto key. They are bright AF, and zero issues after a couple years on the car.

yes I love deautokey, they sure are expensive though! lol. They seem like the only option for some of our bulbs.

confirmed that the H7 halogens and the 'city lights'/turn signals fit into the projector lights so i'll be good for now! will upgrade to HID later on i suppose.

Did order some De-autokey reverse lights, red 'footwell' lights, and license plate lights because the ebay ones everyone was raving over in a different thread suck ass lol.

Super excited to upgrade my front end asap! Headlights, new fogs/hid/tints, and wrapping the lower bumper trim, oh and black VW badge!

Installed the headlights last night, they look great but definitely need some aiming work. Not a great cutoff or light distribution for sure. :.(

New foglights and tint film went in easily, but the crappy HID kit that came with them sucks and doesn't wanna stay on. just flickers and turns off. Get what you pay for there.

Black gti badge was relatively easy. Getting the grille apart to do the VW badge SUCKED!

Finally I was unable to get the black part of the bumper that wraps around the lower grill off. Would not budge no matter what clips were loosened. Anyone thats done this before? Do you need to remove the 'whiskers' fog grille to get it out or the main lower grille?

Gotta go through a private safety test, then get right on the list for state inspection. Following that, if no issues of course, I can finally have title and registration. Will likely be 8 weeks.

Ebay. They are good for the price but as of now the cutoff and light distribution kind of sucks. :/ seems like the passenger side is at a 15 angle and not too sure how i can fix that.

Today:

Went to get my preliminary safety inspection done.

Basically - got a letter from the state that my car is 'rebuilt' and needs a safety inspection by a local certified shop, then one at the state police, scheduled for May 23rd.

Passed the local test today. idunno. lol

Then went home and worked on the rear end :awwyeahhh:

Rear wiper delete
Rear badge delete
Black badge, white color-match insert

Lookin good! Pic to come.

Tonight: Getting some brand new floormats from a local.

might begin the polishing process this weekend! really excited for that. also have some touch up pens/paint to hopefully help any defects from sticking out any more.

one of the main dillemmas i'm facing is the bondo work on the rear quarter - the paint surface is not very smooth. However I'm a little nervous to wetsand it because i don't know comfortably how thick the cleacoat is!
