Volkswagen paint: Terrible?

I have tried to take impeccable care of my paint since I've owned the car. Only hand wash. Wax twice a year. I have many issues with my paint that to me are unexplainable. The rear hatch has what look to be drip marks originating from underneath the rear window and other places have weird marks that I can't get rid of. Really irritates me. Have thought about taking it to a paint specialist to get their opinion.

Not that bad IMO. About the same amount of orange peel as other factory painted care, all nice and glossy. No imperfections that can't be polished out.

I detailed, polished and coated mine immediately, so no real trouble.
I bought my 2012 used, only 1 owner before me. Had small 2 chips on the hood, and one right above the windshield. I hand wash, and was my car and try to keep it perfect. But still more chips have happened on the hood, and above the windshield. I also have the small rust spots starting to form in the corner of both doors because that's where all the water gets drained and ends up sitting there and freezing in cold weather on these cars for some odd reason.thats ones of my biggest pet peeves.
I would say my GTI has satisfactory paint. I owned a Chevy Colorado back in the day and that thing had terrible paint. If you looked at it wrong the paint would chip.
The best vehicle paint I have ever experienced was a Harley. It was left outside in the rain, in the beating sun and in all sorts of crazy Colorado weather......and when I washed it looked brand new. No fading or any issues with the clearcoat and no chips on the tank or fenders. I would use a quick detailer and wipe it down and polish it before a ride and it always looked immaculate.

Volkswagen has a 12 year paint warranty against manufacturer defects. You guys might want to go to the dealer and start the very long process of getting it approved and fixed.
I recently just found out about this, have you done It? How long does it take to get approved, and where will they replace?

I'm sure they'll use any and every excuse not to do it. Everything you point out will be blamed on rock chips and typical wear and they won't cover a thing.

I'm waiting to see what Volkswagen says in regards to 2 rust spots on my trunk lid. Both in the same spots on opposite ends of the lid. No other rust is on my car. It's been a couple months... Like I said it's a long process.

This is basically what I'm waiting to hear... If it isn't covered I'll just do it myself... Just don't want the hassle of having to mess around with the trunk lid and painting it.

I bought my '13 used and it now has 70,000 miles. It doesn't have a single panel without at least 1 rock chip; you can see primer on a few spots on the hood. Maybe it's the black that makes it look worse, but I have never seen anything like it.
