Since I didn't particularly like the vent mount offerings on the market, I have been keeping an eye out for a good column-mounted pod. The New South Pod did not really appeal to me, as it is a stick-on pod, I've seen it in person and came away quite unimpressed. I wanted something that looked OEM, was great quality, and had a good ergonomic design.
Those of you on the MkV forums probably know that I'm a huge fan of the Podi products, and the fact that they're local to me in Vancouver, BC is also really great.
When Winston from Podi asked for a Mk6 volunteer to test the new Mk6 single pod for fitment and texture because his usual people were away, I jumped on it. He told me to share the photos with you guys... I'm really impressed by it. Winston wasn't totally happy with the fit, which means a little more trimming and re-designing, but the texture was bang-on and the placement of the gauge was perfect. It blocks a little bit of the 7000-8000RPM range of our tachometer, but doesn't block anything else, and looks very natural on our steering column. It completely replaces the stock OEM column cover, and uses the exact same clips to attach itself. It looks very OEM!
Wonder if the service guys at the local dealer would notice it.

I'm really waiting for this pod to hit production, and Winston said it would be ready about early March, which is just in time for my ride's debut on the local scene after it's "done."
For those of you wanting a dual pod, the Mk5 dual pod (Podi P2) does work on our cars, however the texture and the placement is off. The fuel/temp gauges are completely blocked with the dual Pod, and the black texturing is a little weird.

And finally... another teaser of a product review coming up.
