Did VW finally find a fix to the rear washer leak?

Did your rear washer leak resolve with the TSB fix?

I got the rear washer leak repaired (per TSB release) about a year ago. To my dismay the thing leaked again right as I drove off the dealer's parking lot the day it was supposedly fixed.

I'm scheduled for my 20K mile oil/tire rotation tomorrow. Should I bother bringing up the issue again? Did VW finally figure out how to fix it correctly?

Took a few months for mine to begin leaking. I mentioned the TSB, them performed it and still leaks sometimes when I turn on the bass. Based on my drip pattern and location, I am now convinced that mine is from the spoiler that retains water not the nozzle.

No leaks on my 2011 yet.

It is more prone to happen during the Summer, when it's hot. It seems like the check valve's rubber membrane warms up and softens enough to let water through or something.

I had mine TSB-fixed, but it still leaked on really hot days when I used the rear washer.

I'm going to agree with this.

Mine dripped in the summer. It is now winter and it has NEVER dripped. Even despite the fact that I actually use it now.

It took two tries from my dealership to get it completely fixed. The first one greatly reduced the amount leaked; I went back, they tried again and it hasn't leaked since (knock on wood). Both times I mentioned the TSB.

EDIT: A disclaimer, though. It doesn't rain much here, and I think I've only used it once or twice in almost a year.

If you don't use it, it wont leak. That is the easiest fix.

My GTI's rear washer nozzle will leak after use. However, it does not leak all the time. I guess whatever is left in the nozzle just gets out and that's it. When I don't use it, it does not leak.

That's fixing the symptom... not the problem.

If you never drive your car, you probably would never have to change the oil or tires either

That's not entirely true. Mike leaked, and quite bad at first, without ever using it.

Well you can never really know if it was "ever" used. Maybe it was used during PDI? Maybe they give it a squirt at the factory during QA?

True, if what was meant was "Once it's been used once, it may leak". My point was that even after months of not using (and that's assuming it was ever used), it would still leak.

Well I've said this before along with Marvin it appears that only you guys in the States have this leaking rear washer jet. Mine is 12 months old now and in the UK it doesn't leak perhaps because I use it a lot because the rear screen gets very dirty/dusty. ;)

this is not true in my case...

i've had this "fixed" on 3 separate visits (followed, by 3 prior visits to once again diagnose yet another fix, order parts, and come back again) and it continues to leak. it should be noted that i almost NEVER use the rear wiper wash. in the 8+ months that i've had my car, i've used it maybe twice.

the pattern i've been able to identify is that it must be warm(er) (typically 50F+), and it's almost guaranteed to occur if i park for period of time and that sun hits the hatch area more directly.

this is beyond frustrating and i've let my service advisor know that i'm really kind of tired of dealing with this. the next visit will involve a higher-level management/owner discussion to get this resolved once and for all.

the plus side (if you can call it that) is that since it's now winter i've had this occur too much. it did happen in december when it was unseasonably warm (60F-ish) so my pattern was clearly apparent.
