Australia's MK6 Fuel Economy Specs are wrong?

I have noticed that both the 118TSI and 103TDI Fuel Consumption figures on VW Aust site seem to be incorrect. It looks like they have switched the data between the Manual and DSG gear boxes.

ie.
AUST: 118TSI Urban, L/100km - Manual = 7.7, DSG = 8.3 (98RON)
UK: TSI 160PS Urban, L/100km - Manual = 8.1, DSG = 7.5 (95RON)

My understanding was that the new 7-Speed DSG made the car more economical to drive yet in the brochure it uses more fuel? I had a look on the UK site and the figures are around the other way. Interesting thing is that I have sent VW Aust 2x emails yet both have been ignored and yet they still continue to advertise in the media these switched specs.

I maybe wrong but from what I have read it doesn't add up.

Any Comments?

VW 'claim' you get more MPG out of the DSG models but i don't live in a lab on a rolling road. In real live our mk5 GTI 6 speed DSG does 3mpg average less than out 6 speed manual GTI in our hands.

well its got more weight within the transmission and turning objects, but it makes up for it in speed of gear changes,

I receive a reply from VW Australia confirming that the fuel specifications in their brouchure are correct.

Well this must mean UK and German Golf fuel specs are wrong!

Does seem a bit weird, but the full combined figure is closer, altough still in favour of the manual...

I think the key is "* fuel consumption figures according the Austalian Design Rule (ADR) 81/02

I took mine for a 800 k plus trip yesterday to Melbourne to Warrnambool and back via the Great Ocean Road. Got an average of 6l/100km. 102km on the trip after a top up and the fuel needle has barely moved off the stops.
