Any VW Service department can print you the factory build sheet (same as in boot) from your VIN. Generally they do this when you come in for service so the tech knows what equipment and parts were used in the original build, however it is usually kept in your dealer files unless you request a copy. This by the way can be done for almost any recent vehicle.

Yes but that means a trip to the dealer.

I'm not sure the VIN number will give the same info?

What I am refering to is the "vehicle data" (mine has 173 items & descriptions, consists of 5 pages). The VIN is your vehicle "finger print" and is very specific, only codes for this particular vehicle will be shown, but note that some codes for non-installed items will identify with deleted(without). The data includes the build date, destination/arrival at selling dealer and the inservice date along with all codes/family descriptions on the car. Info like destination country, import/export and destination dealer. The dealer can also provide a detailed service report for all service completed at any VW/Audi Authorized Service facility. Any way a visit to my local dealer is not too painful and if I go early enough get a donut and coffee on them. Today 5/11 they are having a Customer Appreciation BBQ (fee). Why am sitting here now? FREE FOOD......I'm in!

It appears there are specific ones available Audi A3 (8P/8L) but you're going to need a German translator.

http://vag-codes.info/vag-option-codes where you can also download Audi / VW / Škoda / Seat option codes and the VAS-5051-Error-Codes.pdf but again you need a German translator.

Thats ok I'm glad someone appreciates it?

You can actually download the 257 page pdf file to look at what all the different codes mean if you are interested? http://vag-codes.info/vag-option-codes

Is the "boot sticker" an actual sticker somewhere on the car? I looked in the door jams, but found nothing.

It's where the spare tire is located. And yes it is appreciated, I don't want to look through hundreds of pages when a site can do it quick.

the boot is the trunk, crazy Brits and their terminology ;) and here I was thinking you meant Das Boot  I joke

Sorry yes the UK/US terminology is different.

Half of the Data Options Sticker is stuck on the first page of the service schedule/service book and the other half depending on the model is stuck on the boot floor or on the side of the spare wheel well.

Cheers.

If you want to download all the VAG Option Codes then downloaded them from http://vag-codes.info/vag-option-codes but there are 11931 codes in the VAG and 11745 codes in the Audi so happy searching.

I'm trying to make a programme that shows all the option codes that you type in but bit its a long process with those many?.
