MK5 GTi exhaust on MK6 Golf 2.5

Well finally got around to doing this, itís been done before but not documented as far as I can find So after talking to Lewylou78 on vortex who did this before I did, I got the time to throw it on. The Exhaust is almost exactly the same except the GTi has larger diameter pipe and easier bends and a smaller mid muffler. It does not have the resonator after the cat so I put a Magnaflow 10415 resonator in there to keep the tone/drone down. Also my stock exhaust had the plain tips and the GTi has the welded on polished tips Sound is nice, quiet, but itís there, will hopefully pair this up with the APR intake in the future. Oh and cost... $75 for the exhaust (also came with stock downpipe, thatís for sale if anyone wants it and sleeve clamp) + $59 for the resonator off EBay = $134! Not bad

Nicely done, this is a mod that I am looking at too, good to know it would be a pretty easy and inexpensive swap

If anyone wants to go the other way around, have two spare Mk6 GTI exhausts, lol. Nicely done!

sound wise yes!...performance probably very little if any at all. It was relatively cheap and when eventually paired with the APR intake will sound nice/little power i assume.

i have the apr intake paired with an mk6 gti exhaust with a resonator delete and it sounds a lot better than stock. it's deeper sounding and louder.

Any sound clip? I've been looking at a magnaflow catback and noticed the piping diameter isn't any different than stock. Both 2.25" and was considering just installing the magnaflow mufflers for less than half of the cost of the cat back. Essentially the same minus the bends maybe being slightly different. Anybody do this yet?
