stock DSG GTI vs. stock 02 acura TL type-s auto

My friend has a TL type-s so i asked if he wanted to run...

he said his car would shit on my GTI and i said ok, lets see that happen.

2 runs from a dig, launch control got the jump on him and started pulling pretty good in 3rd both times. Put 1-2 cars on him by the time i hit 90 (semi short straight)

first time he lost he said he "almost burned the clutch" (wtf auto?)

2 runs from 30mph roll: instantly started to pull steadily up to about 90 again this time with about 2-3 car lengths on him.

his excuse was "GTI'S boost kicked in"

he said something about his v-tech having alot of torque and at first i was like no way, its pretty much a honda. looked it up and it got like 230ft/lbs.

we need a VS section

That's a J35 in that TL there. K20 is Inline-4 only.

The TL is a heavier car, with an older 5-speed automatic. What was your friend thinking? Haha.

normal automatics will not have much chance in beating the gti dsg or manual. way too fast. not only that. the turbo will pretty much out match the NA engine almost all the time. especially more so if the turbo have gone for some tuning. good work!

who do u think is better competition for the GTI?

i think:

HONDA CIVIC TYPE R (japan version)
FORD FOCUS ST (UK spec)
COBALT (i rarely see this car come up)
RENAULT MEGANE
OPEL ASTRA

All of which i dont really like, thats why i would choose the GTI! (except the hond civic type R JDM. That car is TOO Hardcore, which is why i didnt choose it. but respect!
