Ok, so I got a Vagcom for Christmas. I have been messing around with settings and have discovered something pretty interesting.
I know people have talked about it before , but here are my results/impressions.
In the ABS Module - Adaptation the XDS is set to 0 , after reading that the Scirocco R which is FWD and more powerfull than a stock GTI the setting is 2
I am currently on my 16 inch winters, but even so, the handeling just went up a notch! BAM! It is quite astounding what a difference a small number does. The car turns flatter, faster. The flatter may have to do with a weight transfer due to the braking of the inside wheel. It is stupid fast in corners now, The car doesn't push as much as it used to.
Can't wait for the summer rubbers to go on and see what this puppy can do.
On a side note, a Throthle body realignement I have just done, makes the car a lot more responsive. I will be doing it weekly from now on.
I guess I should also disclose that I have HPS pads on the front and rears, run Stoptech SS lines front and back, Motul 5.1 fluid, and Bronze Bushings from Lella Motrosport.
The really big difference seems the car's capability of holding the radius of a turn. This in turn gives you more confidence and overall corner speed increases. I am on stock suspension, aside from an XB Brace, and the reduction in lean is noticeable.
I hope this helps fellow GTIers in their endeavour of going Fast!
