When I first got my MKVI, I was sitting in traffic and noticed another TR MKVI GTI heading the opposite way.. I looked over and started to wave and I saw the driver, a middle aged woman, smiling and frantically waving. She was really excited to spot another TR MKVI GTI and also be spotted at the same time, it was kind of cool

The gti is sexy. It's not cute. It's manly to drive a sexy car. Jag, Ferrari, Lambo, maserati, etc.

If you're looking for VW chicks go over to the vortex forums. Don't understand why, but there's lots of posts that are basically "I'm a slut, happen to drive a VW."

Since when are all hatchbacks girly? I've never heard that. IMO the only girly cars I can think of is the new beetle and the prius.

What I think is happening here-- you're firefighting buddies are antagonizing you hoping you will say "dude, drive the car the tell me it's girly". They just really want to drive your awesome car but are too small testicled to outright ask you.

NO list of 'girly' cars (by which I mean cars with a high percentage of female ownership) is complete without the Mini Cooper.

my wife wants a mini. I'd rock one. Especially the new sport coupe.

For a while I saw mostly girls driving GTIs. These days I'm seeing more guys. Weird.

Not saying I wouldn't drive one either, just that IMO female ownership percentage is high for that car, maybe b/c of the cute factor. I cross shopped the mini - found the interior a little weird, and too pricey optioned out to where I wanted it.

My thoughts exactly... I hate trucks too so...
