Ready to race!
So finally got a chance to mount the sensors yesterday.
Here is some photos and notes for those who might be interested.
I would usually go for OEM parts, however it was going to cost almost $300 just for parking sensors and I am broke right now I decided to go with the closest thing which was this OEM Style ones.(Also there is not much go wrong with parking sensors, so I took my chances with aftermarket ones)
I hated those big knobby aftermarket sensors (Looks like your bumper grew 4 nipples) so it took me a while to find these.
Mounting them wasn't that difficult aside from finding the reverse light wire, I ended up finding myself in the boot with the hatch closed ( since the lights don't come on if the hatch is open ) testing every wire that goes to the hatch door.
Anyways they are mounted and working perfectly.
Here are some photos from the unit and the process. It was dark by the time I was finished, so I didn't get a chance to take pictures of the finished product, I take some today and post them later on.
Here is what I got:
The amazing thing was the spots for the sensors were already marked inside the bumper, so I didn't need to go through all the measuring and lining up the sensors.
The brackets already came with double sided tape but just make sure they stick properly I put some silicon adhesive around the brackets.
That's where I put the buzzer.
That's my neighbor.
Cheers.
BTW, Here is how to remove the rear bumper:
