hi all. anyone out there running 225/35/19 tyres with 19 x 8.5" ET40 wheels on their Golf GTi MK6?

before i take the plunge with the wheels, i wanted to know whether these will fit the gti mk6 and if they will rub with stock height and springs.

also, if anyone has this setup and lowered with a minor drop, any rubbing fo the wheels? appreciate any feedback, thanks.

Yeah, I have that tire combo on my mk6 gti. Stock suspension. No rubbing. But I think the tires are too stretched...

Wondering if anyone tried 235 instead of 225.

good to know that 225 tyres with et40 offset works fine with 8.5" x 19 wheels.

im planning to lower it between 1 to 1.5" all around. from what i've read 225 is the best for this dump, no wider.

thoughts?

Daefoo's on Talladega wheels though, not sure if the offset is the same.

PN: 1K8-601-025-G if somebody wants to check.

I think 225/35/19 are the perfect amount of stretch on a 19x8.5. Here's a couple of pics for reference on my MKV. Tires were Falken (not sure of the number) and wheels were 19*8.5 et45. I'm now on 18's in my MKVI due to the 19's being a little harsher ride and also wanted to change looks.

Also, I never rubed in that car even when I was lowered 1.5" (it's was an R32) from stock height with H&R springs.
