It's not a GTI; but my 2012 TDI has 36K on it, at 10 months old

76k here on 2010

only issues were intake manifold at 56k and occasionally it grinds going into 3rd, but it's never reproducible.

What kind of tune??
If you output anything less than 150% of the stock, then it is your driving, not a tune.
ECU failure because of tune??? Can you clarify this? Why would ECU die because of re-programming it?

Really, you must not drive much, i have a 2010 with 40K, unless everything u need is like in a 5 mile radius.

I've just passed 75,000 on mine...feels like it's just starting to break in.

1. I had a failed injector around 44K and had them replaced and carbon cleaned off the valves. Diverter valve replaced at 56K.

2. Replaced the rear brake pads at 61K.

3. Oil changes...

Pretty solid so far...

Bender and ghotch are shining some touring lights up in here.

Just past 50,000 miles down this way on the '10. Intake manifold sensor, water pump are the only unexpected bumps.

Just chipped it, so we'll see what the next couple 50ks have in store.

Two cars and a truck, out in the country, and find when i leave, once or twice a week, i need the space of the truck to get all the stuff i need. So the GTI is only driven on nice days for recreation and we don't have as much time as we would like for that, three years and it has never been driven in the rain.
