I was at don vally VW on thursday and apparently there was no recall to install the check valve yet.
anyone else had better luck?

I contacted VWoC, because I was hoping to have this "potential issue" along with a few other 'known' problems confirmed and fixed prior to taking delivery of the car.

VWoC replied back indicating that they would require 'x' number of confirmed complaints before they issue a 'nationwide' TSB. My impression with their response leans something towards the lines of, ‘since you don’t have the car yet, we won't take the initiative to investigate it.’ But that’s just my thought.

Regardless, I'd encourage anyone that has any ‘common’ faults with their car to bring it to a dealership and have the complaint documented in their system and obtain a paper trail for your own record.

Also if there is an existing TSB or not, I’m sure that a dealership will fix it for you, it’s just a matter of finding a good one.

I think mine stopped as I only really noticed it last year when I first got the car. I washed the car last on June 4th and I still do not have drips on the rear window.
I used my front washer this morning so I'll see if the rear leaks on my drive home today.

If it does, I'll make a call to VWoC to add my name to the list.

when it rains try holding the rear washer for 10 seconds. (just because it makes a big mess)

On my car when i let go of the washer, the washer keeps coming out for another 3 seconds like i am holding the stalk.

Rain is expected tomorrow. I'll give it a test.

Even if I haven't used the rear washer recently, mine pees a bit when I corner hard or hit a bump. I'm not an anal retentive sort about whether my car is clean or not (in fact, haven't even washed it since I got it) so whatever. If they release a TSB, I'll get it taken care of at the first service.

I was actually just about to make a thread on this. Was wondering if Don Valley VW recognize the problem. Don't really want to bother wasting my time if they won't fix it.

I've never experienced any washer leak from my rear windshield. Maybe it does leak but I never noticed. But my car does rattle and I hear it right beside my left ear. Can be a bit annoying especially if my radio is off.

When I went to DV VW weeks ago the only recall was some cable tie on footwell.

There is a TSB for it. Quote the TSB # to your dealer to make sure they will fix it.

92 10 03 (2023248) May 11, 2010 – Rear Washer Nozzle Drips after Use
Model: 2010 Golf, GTI

That's right off the VW ServiceNet Technical Bulletins List.

To get it fixed the rear hatch spoiler needs to be removed and there is a whole procedure on how to properly clean and prep the area for the adhesive to reinstall the spoiler. Your dealer will require those items as well besides the parts listed in the TSB to install the non-return valve.

I can safely report that mine is not leaking. I used it aggressively while it rained and it always stopped right away. I then washed the car that night, two days later and still no drip. At least for now...

i thought the tsb is for the USA guys, because the service lady said only thing she sees is securing something in the footwell and adding a warning sticker

The footwell vent is an actual recall IIRC. The rear windshield washer leak has the TSB for it. There are plenty of TSB's and there is not going to be a recall for every single one. If your dealership only fixes things if it has a recall then they are losing out on a lot of money.

Not every single vehicle has this issue. My assistant manager does not have this issue where as one of the salesmen at my dealer (beeb on these forums) has the leaky rear washer as well.

My washer dripped like mad. The rear window was always a mess. So I got the TSB done 2 days ago... the thing still drips. Im starting to wonder if they even did it. Maybe they just said they did... Hope not. But if they did do it, it didnt fix the problem.

And FYI the vent recall... they just zip tie the vent to a harness under the dash. Stright from the service techs mouth. Eazy fix.

SeanR had gotten his/hers fixed and 2 days later it started leaking. There is a post out on it, sorry I didn't get the link.
