New 2014 Volkswagen GTI Wolfsburg Edition - Price ?

OK so we test drove a new 2014 Volkswagen GTI Wolfsburg Edition last weekend and really like it. We like the charcoal gray in an automatic.

I have done some reading but trying to find out what a good price otd is.

One lot the best they could do is:
MSRP: $27,015
Invoice Cost: $25,967
Sale Price: $25,217
Sale Price & Finance through VW: $25,967

We offered them $24,000 otd and was told no go on that.
Then we went back to them and said while another dealer has it listed at $24,217 can you beat that and was told no to that.

Another lot has a price is listed MSRP $27,015 with a Sale Price $24,217. We are waiting on a call back from them.

So what is a decent price OTD for the 2014?

Also it has been a while since we bought a car but what is the total cost usually with title, license and fees?

Truecar.com shows a target price of $25,104 for my area.

We don't have a trade in. Though we are putting half down.

What tactic did you use to get them down and what was the msrp on it?

seems not good enough deal for the original poster...

The estimated dealer invoice price (including the destination charge of $800) should be $23,378...

This is for a California dealer.

I can't wrap my head around buying a 2014 when it will depreciate like crazy in a month or two after the MK7s hit.
