Would the touchscreen from MK7 fit MK6?

Hey,

I'm hunting for a head unit upgrade (touchscreen), and came across this nice OEM touchscreen unit that MK7 cars come with - 5G6919605:

Does anyone know or maybe even have retrofitted this into an MK6 Golf? Does it fit without any additional frame kits, and do all functions work?

Another thing I'm wondering is if would steering wheel controls (switching songs for Bluetooth) would work perfectly?

No mk7 are a completely different platform.
Some individuals do retrofit them for mk6 but there not many out there as its a lot of work and costs a pretty penny.

They typical OEM go to in mk6 is the RCD 330, but Ive actually replaced mine with an android headunit with wireless carplay and have been pretty happy

But im sure theres others like it, just try to get a newer processor with at least 2gb ram

Alright, I'll just have to pick one of the Chinese Android units then I guess, I already have checked a few out. I will need to add a flip camera together with it, so I need a little bit of research before I buy anything.
