Pre-2018 MY Tiguans are PQ platform and run the same EA888s. 2018 and later switch to the MQB platform and the special cycle EA888 (which I think amounts to a different cam profile). Maybe someday someone will figure out a DQ250 or DQ381 swap 😩

So my buddy who was up last weekend just went through the same thing and he ended up getting a Tiguan. Said he drove the CRV and the CX-5 as well, and preferred the Tig. Bonus: you already have experience with EA888/MQB so work on the Tiguan will be familiar.

It's got a cat but nothing big/fancy, probably not enough to pass emissions on its own. Tuners have definitely been shying away from potentially angering the EPA, but I've been running the same tune since before that started.

I have CBFA and don't run a spacer. 99.9% sure Uni disables the CEL. Haven't had an issue with inspection here in CT yet.

I've got a P2568 CEL again. Could be the special CBFA radiator sensor, could be the TStat/Waterpump. I'd like to try and do some logging to diagnose what's causing it before throwing $$$ at it. Any suggestions on blocks to log in OBD11? Unfortunately the special sensor can't be read...
