034 motor mounts with OEM dog bone?

Just hit 110k miles. K04 for last 30k. Motor/trans mounts have never been done. I’m not looking to increase NVH at all. Was planning on going with the 034 street density mounts, but most reviews said to stay away from the matching subframe pucks. Would the 034 mounts match ok with fresh OEM subframe pucks/dogbone, or would the stiffer mounts cause too much wear on the stock parts?

133k here and K04 as well. I recently replaced my engine and trans mounts and added the 034 insert. Yes it would match just fine and it’s what it did. I added a new OEM dogbone mount at the same time as the insert as well. I went with Velt sport engine and tranny mounts which are very similar to the 034 street density mounts. Overall NVH has been slightly increased but I only feel it on take off in 1st. Otherwise feels almost stock but more planted. I don’t think it would cause more wear and my factory mounts were shot and leaking when I inspected them after removal. So not replacing was worse than even replacing with OE. Make sure to buy new bolts and torque appropriately. They are one time use TTY bolts. For an OE+ feel I would go with Velt sport or 034 street density mounts and the 034 dogbone insert. No complaints at all with my setup and wheel hop is all most non existent. Although, I also added an LSD (traction concepts open diff mod) so that also helps significantly with traction.

I did go with the 034 street density mounts. I’m planning on replacing the dog bone mounts with OEM. Have new hardware waiting to go, hopefully in the next week or 2.

To make it easy to install, I would use an engine support bar. I bought the $79 one from harbor freight. I purchased it initially when I dropped the transmission to upgrade the clutch. It worked very well. There’s also a few options cheaper on Amazon but I have no experience with them. From my experience and looking back, the threads on the supports did gull somewhat from adjusting the engine up and down under load. From the beginning, I would make sure to antisieze the threads good to help prevent it from happening if I were you. If not using the engine support bar, you can also use a jack on a block of wood or rubber block under the oil pan and that works fine for the mount change too, but would recommend the engine support bar over that method if you can get your hands on one. They are easy to change out though besides that. Also make sure you lift the mounts with the jack or support bar and not use the bolts to close gaps and realigning during reinstall. The threads are known to strip out if too much tension is put on them and then created a bigger issue to deal with. Good luck.
