3C = 00111100 = Hill Hold disabled, TPMS enabled
3D = 00111101 = Hill Hold enabled, TPMS enabled
39 = 00111001 = Hill Hold enabled, TPMS disabled
I don't care about TPMS but I want Hill Hold so I think I would want 39 is that correct? would this affect TSC and XDS settings as well?
Yes, I believe 39 is Hill hold enabled, TPMS disabled when I quickly tried it on my car last night. What I did was put it back to B7 to see what was enabled in long coding and saw both hill hold and tpms enabled. Then put it to 3C, and played with the check mark boxes in long coding helper and saw the byte change from 3c to 3d and 39. Unfortunately outside of driving at an autox or with traction control on a wet road, I don't think I can tell if it really is off or if xds is still on. Im currently using 3D, since I like hill hold and the tpms being enabled doesnt have the annoying features of the earlier based systems on aftermarket wheels. Another option is playing with the xds strong and weak settings in addition to disabling the traction control and seeing what happens.
ESP and TSC is both disabled when the button is pressed to turn off traction control now. However I still need to figure out how to get two stage like ThatGTI has on his 2010. There might be another setting, but that will probably require playing around with the long coding and seeing what happens. It just seems really odd how ThatGTIs car has the two stage system, the 2011 doesnt on the same coding.
Ideally for me, the best solution would be the two stage traction control, as it allows enough slip and rotation. But I can probably get used to full off as Im fairly used to a rotatable fwd car.
Are there any overseas GTI and Golf R members on here? Im interested to see if they get the same results as us, especially the pre 2012 ROW Golf Rs that have the same issue as the 2009-2011 GTIs without being able to fully disable traction control.
that is correct. I had put that information in one of my edited posts. should've made a new post. sorry about that.
i think i should clarify. after driving the car with ESP disabled, i turn off the car and get out to do some errands. I get back in the car and turn the car on, ESP is active again. Is that what normally happens? I need to push the button again to disable.
oh ok, yeah that is normal, each time you turn off and turn on the car, traction control is enabled again and you have to manually turn it off each time. I think that is done by design.
