Ready to race!
Heading up to Myrtle Beach for work for a few days this month. Ended up postponing my flight so I can spend a long weekend there with the gf. Never been, all I know is what I've seen on Eastbound & Down haha. Was thinking of renting a car and driving to Charleston for a night or two if its worth it. Anyways, any things I absolutely must do? Local secrets? Awesome roads for thrashing the rental car?

Bro I have nothing to contribute to this thread about Myrtle Beach, but I see that you're from Hollywood, FL. Feel free to join all of us South Florida owners in our forum chats. We have weekly meets and stuff, we're in the regional forum, here:

İve been there a couple of times for the labor day weekends and mrytle beach is huge for a beach town, theres this little plaza that has hard rock cafe which includes some night clubs. The beaches it self is somewhat less hectic to va beach, ocean city, rehoboth etc (no boardwalk on some parts). Most roads are pretty straight and seems no traffic might as well do 0-60 pulls etc. You need some exploring to find some nice places, thats all i can give you from experiences on just couple visits

Myrtle Beach is one of the nicest places in SC, I was only there a couple days, really liked it and we only went to the beach.

Any specific area of the beach you recommend? What was so nice?

Shopping wise, there's Barefoot Landing, Broadway At The Beach, The Market Common, Tanger Outlets (one on Hwy 17, another on Hwy 501).

The Hard Rock Cafe and nightclubs Tkulhanc134 mentioned are at Broadway at the Beach along with a bunch of other restaurants. Barefoot Land also has a lot of restaurants. If you want a good burger, I really like River City Cafe (at Broadway, as well as a couple hotels). The downtown area has a lot of clubs as well.

Attraction wise, there are a few places you can parasail, rent jet skis, etc. if you like that type of stuff. There is also a Ripley's Aquarium (at Broadway) and Ripley's Museum (downtown), I've never been past the "free" area of either though. At Broadway, there is also a place called Wonderworks. It is a building that is upside down and crooked that has fun science/experience type stuff I guess (hands on stuff from my understanding). I've never been, but it looks cool haha. If you like putt putt, there is a sweet course called Mt. Atlanticus downtown. In the Broadway at the Beach area, there is a Nascar Speedpark (go karts) and a water park. If you golf, there are tons of courses to choose from. If you want to get out on the ocean, there are gambling cruises and fishing charters. Show wise, there are a few places that have a show every night - The Alabama Theatre, Pirates Voyage, The legends in Concert, Medieval Times, The Palace Theatre, and The Carolina Opry.

There is a ton to do in Myrtle Beach! Enjoy yourself!

Drive south a few minutes to Murrels Inlet and eat at Drunken Jacks. Good stuff, and it is right on the water. Also, Sea Captains in Myrtle Beach is very good.
