2012 Mk6 gti timing chain issues

Hey i have a 2012 mk6 gti it was manufactured in 3/2012 I’m curious if i have the updated timing chain tensioner and chain i just did a reading on my obdeleven for the phase position bank 1 intake and i was at engine speed 760/min and my phase position was at -7.57 and I’m worried i have some chain stretch but I’m not sure can you please help me out with this thanks please anyone with info on this please help

You don’t have it. I’m pretty sure only the 13-14 have the updated revision. My ‘14 was at 89k miles when my stretch was at -3.54 so I got all my timing done since the upper cover was leaking anyway. I’d replace yours ASAP.

The issue is not just chain stretch but also the the old tensioner is a shit design that is prone to fail.

Remove the inspection port and look. If it's the old one get it replaced ASAP along with the new chain revision.

Yeah i had the old design spent the past two days changing it to the new tensioner and new chain and guides now I’m good thanks

I just replace mine every 50k as I don't trust it
