i have a gti with the dynaudio system but i feel like it needs more of that sub kick. is it possible to add a sub to the system? and i dont just want it in the trunk, i know theres a guy here that makes and sells stealth boxes, but is it possible to run all that and still keep the rest of the dynaudio?

Roughly 1 year in on my uber-stealth box (linked above), and I still love it. You can go with cheaper options, but not with literally ZERO sacrifice of precious hatch space. Excellent craftsmanship. Sounds great.

I recommend the Pioneer sub. I blew the MB Quart, and then replaced it with the Pioneer. It's better. You'll also want the LC2i referenced in my thread. Even if you go with something else, I'd recommend reading thorough that link. I dig way deeper than I was expecting.

what are your guys' opinions on the side mounted subs? no offense nik, but i just dont see how the sub can give that kick through the floor.

I will have to agree. Mine has been working flawlessly since day ONE.

Read thru your thread yesterday & already ordered an uber-stealth box from Nik. I have a ton of wiring leftover from old installs & actually thought about just tossing most of it thinking I'd never use it again...so glad I didn't! Thanks for the really helpful info!

Not yet! But I'll post up a thread when I start my install. Now time to do some sub/amp/LC2i shopping. :D

Don't forget to buy a ACR-1 wired remote control for the LC2i. It's very convenient if you have to control the bass volume when you have kids or other people in the car.
Helpful TIP: the ACR-1 WILL NOT FIT the blank buttons in front of the shifter. The knob fits but the mechanism won't. I had to mount mine at the driver's kick panel, above the hood latch lever which is low-key and somehwhat hidden from view.

Thanks for the reminder! I actually hadn't even thought about it. With the ACR-1, is there even a reason to install a remote level switch for an amp?

It gives you more flexibility to set the LC2i at a certain level and turn up/down the bass volume when you want to. I have my LC2i's main level set at 11 o'clock and my Audison amp at 10 o'clock. With the levels at moderate settings, there's less distortion.

No worries. I will say there have been several long threads about this that I don't have links to. I can say will over 400 underfloor boxes in use, the bass provided meets 95% of all peoples needs
