Alloy Wheel Damage!

I scuffed my front right wheel on a kerb the other day and it looks awful!
any tips on hot to make it look any better or even fix it??

dont kno how ot fix it but just feel lucky....the first week i got my gti i messed up a rim....Driving a GTi in NYC isnt cool at all...=/

HOw expensive is it to replace an alloy rim, and/or an 18 inch all season tire? It is worth getting that tire/wheel insurance thing VW sells?

best thing to do is avoid the curb in the first place but i have seen places that re-machine alloy wheels. will prob cost like 50-75 $. thats alot better than what the dealer will charge you for a whole new wheel.

I liked those wheels since you first posted the pictures. I found their name, the Azuro. In the US, they're almost $350 a piece.

Mike i thought they were azuro for a while, but they had the extra black spoke, and i foulf them on the VW german website under the name 'Onyx Black'.

You can fix it. I curbed my aftermarket wheels real bad and had them fixed. This was a while ago but I think it was just under $100. Not cheap but still a lot better than buying a new wheel.

BTW - I went to the dealership and they have someone who comes in to fix it. If you can find someone to fix it and avoid the "middleman", should be able to save a little $$.

Ya i used to work at a new car dealership a few years ago, and we had a company that came in every week or so and fixed chipped and scratched up wheels when we got pre-owned cars on the lot.

Can't remember the name, but a google search brought up a ton of them in my area.
