AW in a VW

Ready to race!
Others can speak from personal experience, but I think Hewlett is and Onion Creek is not. Might do a quick search for Hewlett or Onion Creek and skim the results to see the individual reports.

I've been to Hewlett a few times and they haven't said anything about my intake. Also I'm pretty sure mike from BD Tuning has flashed cars up there.

Hola people! Anyone going to Le Mans @ Cota, Sept 17-19?

That's awesome... congrats! Check to see if you're able to take part in the parade laps on Friday night. I had a friend recently do this and by the third lap, most cars on the track were driving flat out as fast as they could. I'm stoked!!

Thanks. Unfortunately I can't do Friday night because I'll be out of town.

I guess one of my co-workers did the track drive thing with her C6 a year or two ago - it sounded intense. If I did the parade lap I think I might actually try to weird people out by bringing my wife's Stg 2 TDI Sportwagen.

I did discover that my tickets included a Lot A parking pass. Bonus.

Are you going all three days?

Just saying hi and introducing myself on the Austin page. I'm down in Buda but work in Austin. My wife and I bought a '13 4 door this summer and are enjoying it immensely. We changed out the radio as the PO put in a chinese RCD-510 and we put in a US one (needed sat radio) and replaced a broken rear vent.

Our car is just under the 40k mile point. We are going to need to get the DSG fluid changed here shortly.

Anyone around here done this themselves (I would but don't have a vagcom for checking things out and I do all my own work on my motorcycles and Xterra)?
Are there any non dealer shops you would recommend? Onion Creek has quoted me 330+tax which from what I have seen is about as cheap as it gets for getting it done.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself :)

Welcome. I've also got this service due in the near future on my wife's TDI Sportwagen (I haven't done it yet, either). Honestly, ID Parts has a good video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GncqCbO25U&feature=youtu.be) on the procedure and parts cost is around $100-$140 depending on what you get. You could grab a bay at DIY Texas for another $20-$40, so the max to do it yourself would be $140-$180.

If you do quote it out through Brink let me know what they charge.

I also have a VCDS cable in Central Austin.

Let me see what the couple places mentioned are going to charge and I will let you know. I still might borrow it to get a few other things changed though. :)

I will have the room in my garage down in Buda (I have to clean it out anyways as I am getting a garage only car, my dad's '69 vette) and have all of the tools. so no need to use the bay there. But thanks for the recommendation. I just put in an email to brinks and I will let you know :)
