Also, always use gloves when installing bulbs. A bit of oil from your fingers can create hot spots on the glass, leading to premature failure. At a minimum, wipe them down with a clean cloth after you install them, if you don't have gloves. I've had my GTI for about 4 years, and the same bulbs are still in it, a decent bulb should last you several years if they are installed properly.

Do you know what the OEM bulbs are?

Hi, I've just replaced my headlights for OEM Hella and they came with Philips H7 and Osram H15 bulbs fitted. I've replaced them with Maruta / MTEC Xenon bulbs from my old lights as I prefer the whiter light look. Granted they probably won't last as long as the originals but the light beams are superior IME.
I believe both Philips and Osram do upgraded versions of their bulbs but they're quite expensive for what they are and the improvement is only minimal.

Have you considered LEDs. The overclocked halogens are really not that much more whiter/brighter when you compare them to LEDs. They also die fairly quickly. Some report 2-3 months with regular use and others have to replace 2-3x a year. That is when many switch to LEDs.

We understand wanting to try a halogen bulb that is overclocked that claims brighter/whiter but nothing will compare to LEDs and many switch to ours after the hassle of using halogens.

We do not reply in a lot of threads. It is determined based on what we can offer. People do not know what we offer many times and are confused/fooled by the "overclocked" halogens and no problem if people are 100% set on trying these but all facts should be posted and different options. People can then make a more educated decision based on all facts.
