Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
Sometimes, not all the time, and occasionally constantly, the engine will stall itself while driving, in between shifts, at idle, and as RPM drops after revving. I have replaced the crank shaft position sensor because a shop diagnosed it and said it was that. Before that, the same shop said it was an ignition issue and replaced my entire lock cylinder, ignition switch, and clock spring. There are no dash lights or engine codes.
I have no direction to lead me to what is causing this issue. I’ve been dealing with this for over a year now. The Golf has been in and out of several shops, and no one can find a definite solution. Now, I’m new into cars and this Golf has been my first car to work on and learn about, so I’m not very knowledgeable as to what may be causing this issue. But, it is reassuring that even professional mechanics can’t find the issue either. My next option is, of course, forums… so please, ask any questions you may have and please let me know if you’ve dealt with this before. Thank you!
