Oh Dang - RIP Eddie Money

Yeah saw that. Sad. Stage 4 throat cancer. Made it to 70. Not bad for a rock star from the 70’s and 80’s though.

Bummer about Eddie Money. Every time I hear "Take Me Home Tonight" I'm transported back to 4th grade class parties at the Roller Rink. Who here besides maybe EJ and Hondadude remember roller rinks?

That's a heating circuit fault. I'll assume the downpipe is catless - in which case, the typical code (caused by such a downpipe) would likely be a cat efficiency code of some sort. O2 sensors have heaters built in to them as they're only accurate when hot. If the heater fails, they won't read right until the exhaust heats them all the way up. So they can throw a code if the heater fails. I'd check the wiring for the sensor, make sure it didn't get damaged. Or replace the sensor.

I hit a fucking possum tonight

Kinda like what Andy Lally did in the 24 a few years ago?

yep roller rinks were awesome - good times

I grew up right around the tail end of roller rinks going extinct. I went a few times, good people watching. Some older crowd still stuck in the roller disco era.

CfA for lunch... grilled nuggets. Not bad. Figure it's gotta be healthy-ish.

LAPS was busy yesterday. In addition to classroom I had 2 students to sign off on. One was in a new McLaren 570S. Cool car. Felt like a Cayman but with 600hp. Good balance. Very quiet, couldn't hear much when rolling down the track. Snug cockpit tho. I didn't really fit.

Learned this weekend that my buddy orders his work catered CFA every week. Has over 15,000 CFA reward points... ate free CFA this weekend.

CFA is awesome, been using the app since launch. Have had a good bit of free CFA.

At work, we go for lunch at least once a week. Manager knows us since we go so much and she gives us coupons all the time, hell yeah brother.

Traditional pork ramen

Vegetable, pork, chicken curry

Beef sashimi. Yes, it’s raw and you eat it that way. It was amazing.

This we cooked in the table side grill. Unreal. Look at that marbling!

Tuna sashimi. Varying grades of fat. The highest grade literally melted in my mouth!

Shabu shabu and sukiyaki. Shabu shabu is basically Japanese hot pot. You cook the meet in a flavored broth, then dip it in raw egg and eat. Unbelievable. Sukiyaki style is grilled in a pan with a flavored sauce, then dipped in egg, then eat.

This is the adorable lady that cooked our sukiyaki for us. She was awesome. Spoke no English.

Unpasteurized saké. I’m not a huge saké fan, but this stuff was amazing. We found this little stand up bar buried in the basement of the subway station where the locals drink after work. The best stuff, but reasonably priced. They were amazed, but delighted we were there, because tourists don’t frequent these hidden bars. I think they were excited to try out their english skills.

Very cool Dubya, looks like youre having quite the fun 40th birthday celebration . Id eat every one of those dishes...and yes eating raw meat is not unheard of...ive done 2-3 times before in the form of steak tar tar with a raw egg. Always wanted to try hot pot. I too am not a huge fan of sake..especially when warm...BUT when in rome yeah...

dont forget to eat that sushi fish side down for most flavor...

have a fun rest of the trip (thumbsup)

edit: Also please try the 711 egg salad sammiches.
