Weird, I wonder why your clutch disc is different.

I'll send Clutch Masters an email tonight with both pictures to see if there is any difference.

Opened up mine and this is what I found. I didn't get the smwf bc I plan on using my oem part. Is this why it's different?

Correct part # but wrong clutch in box..

the VW aftermarket game is such a joke. It is almost as if they don't give a fuck because you need them more than they need you.

bob can you comment on the condition of your original dmfw

Sorry, didn't know whether the question was for FLtrooper or me. I've never had to diagnose a flywheel but my mechanic told me it wasn't bad, if it is scorched it will look like it has burn marks and are usually blue-ish in color. My car wasn't slipping too bad, I'm sure if I drove it longer the flywheel would've eventually been scorched as well.

Bad news! Who did you get it from? Generally they are drop shipped from CM directly from what Ive been told so vendor may not matter too much.

That is correct.

I think so, but you may want to double-check before you start the install. If I remember correctly, the DMF will absorb the vibrations which is why the clutch disk doesn't need the springs. With a SMF there is nothing the flywheel can do to absorb vibrations which is why the clutch disc has the springs. But I could also be completely wrong, lol.
